The Company

Sadhana is the dance company set up by Subathra Subramaniam in 2009. Sadhana derives from the Sanskrit word for the pursuit of a spiritual goal, combining perfection of execution with study and reflection, and represents Suba’s vision for the company’s role in 21st century British dance. The vocabulary of Bharata Natyam, a South Indian classical dance form, aims to be though-provoking, visually charming and entertaining.

Sadhana Dance present high quality work that brings together the sectors of art and science appealing to a range of audiences from across the world and is a key advocate for the UK’s South Asian dance sector. Sadhana’s particular distinctiveness derives from Suba’s passion for both cross-art form collaboration and combining arts with science.

To date Sadhana has created three new works The Shiver (2010) and Elixir (2012) and is currently touring Under My Skin (2013) the company’s third professional work.
