After we launched the website earlier in the summer and commissioned the suite of six new pieces of writing on dance, science and public engagement there’s been a host of different activities going on at Sadhana demonstrating the breadth of what the organisation does.
Suba was invited to talk about her work and research on Unkindest Cut at the Enhancing the Mental Health and Well Being of Inter-generational Communities Through Dance at the Birmingham Weekender with Dr Melrose Stewart (University of Birmingham) and Monique Deletant (Director of Dance Hub Birmingham). She also spent some time in the studio completing some early R&D looking at the scientific, comedic and choreographic possibilities of the mosquito in collaboration with Simon Watt.
Coming up later this month Suba has been asked to attend a round table discussion with Nick Serota Chair of Arts Council England) to talk about the reality and issues facing mid career choreographers and delivering a number of workshops as art of the Illuminating India season at the Science Museum in association with Akademi and we’re delighted to announce that early next year Suba will be heading to Sura Medura, Sri Lanka residence for five weeks as she embarks on a brand new creation period.
